Draft e-invoicing legislation update
In our last post, Tungsten Automation outlined the key characteristics contained in Belgium’s draft Business-to-Business (B2B) e-invoicing law.
The Finance and Budget Committee has now approved the draft legislation, which mandates B2B e-invoicing in Belgium from 1 January 2026.
Despite the previous collapse of tax reforms in the country which hindered B2B e-invoicing progress in Belgium, the draft legislation is passing swiftly through the necessary hierarchies of the Belgium legislative system.
As a last resort, the legislation will be passed to the Chamber of Representatives, where its passing is expected to be a formality only.
The legislation will also influence wider components of the legislative framework, and Belgium is also in the process of developing text to incorporate the e-invoicing provisions into its VAT code.
Belgium is a compliant territory for Tungsten Automation. We are committed to monitoring the progression of the legislation and will keep you informed in respect of the same.
