Business-to-Government (B2G) expansion
Despite Belgium’s B2B e-invoicing mandate initiative stalling owing to the collapse of tax reforms in the country, Belgium’s B2G drive appears to be gaining ascendency.
An approved Decree in Belgium will now expand the use of e-invoices to all suppliers of public institutions in the country. This expansion will take the form of phased implementation, which will consider the size of the public contract.
Notably, from 1 March 2024, electronic invoices for all public contracts of less than 30,000 Euros must be issued 18 months after the publication of the decree in the Belgian Official Gazette, and on the first day of each month.
